Lisu Church/Mckintoshes

The Lisu Christians are delightful! They are warm and hospitable and my tears couldn't stop flowing when I heard them sing in 4 part harmony!! They just love to sing!!

I pray that God's spirit will ground them and sink their roots of faith, deep into Him. That many who claim to be Christians, would truly understand the gospel and have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus.

Many of the older Lisu people were animists, but were converted through having personal experiences of spiritual deliverance. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to free them from the bondage of darkness and that their spiritual eyes will continue to be opened to the truth of His word. Pray too, that their children will come to understand the full implications of the gospel, who Jesus is and what He has done for them; through the cross!! Pray for the many who continue to come to faith in Jesus through the sharing of the gospel; that their lives will be anchored in God's word and that God's spirit will guard their hearts against false and wrong doctrine.

The Mcintoshes are missionaries stationed at the James O Fraser Centre. They are wonderful servants of God, who have given up much, for the sake of the call. In obedience and faith, they left their home, family and familiar surroundings, to travel to a distant land...to teach the gospel, to reach out, to love and nurture the students and also to make an impact on the community at Chiang Dao.
We love and miss them so much!!

Their lives have made a huge impact on ours and they are wonderful, godly examples. They packed their young family of 5 children and gave up their earthly inheritance (their farm) for the sake of the gospel!! Our hearts go out to them and we are with them in our thoughts and prayers.

Please pray for Jim, Linda, Hamish, Lillian, Angus, Conan and Torin. That God would strengthen them and uphold them. That He would comfort them during times of stress and loneliness; that He would refresh them and encourage them, when things get challenging and tough; that He would give them rest, and restoration, when they are physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted. That He would continue to be everything to them and that they would find complete fulfillment in obeying Him, making His name known, disicpling and teaching the students and praying for the land of Thailand whose hearts are darkened.

Our time at the J O Fraser Centre (Thailand/Chiang Dao)

We spent a week with the students at the James O Fraser Centre In Chiang Dao

We enjoyed their fellowship, acceptance and welcome and got to know and love them very much

They are God's beautiful children and we continue to pray for them, as they study and learn English and theology

We pray that in the years to come, they will be fully equipped to teach and serve God and that they will be ready to go wherever God leads them

They encourage us so much by their simplicity, their genuine faith and trust in God (even in the midst of much physical suffering) and seperation from their families

Even though, we have now returned to Sydney, our hearts are very much with our brothers and sisters in Chiang Dao.
Some of our brothers there are powerful and effective evangelists. However, we also pray that the Lisu Christians will be grounded in their faith through good and faithful teaching of the word of God.

Please pray that more and more resources will be made available to them, so that the Centre will be a place where Lisu pastors, bible teachers/leaders/youth workers/sunday school teachers can be trained in the future and be given solid bible teaching

As we talk to more churches about joining us in partnership, we pray that God will move more and more hearts to respond...that more qualified theological teachers would go and give of their time to edify and teach...and also thatmore funds would be provided for the translation and printing of good Christian English literature into the Lisu language...for the praise and glory of God!!

May the Lisu churches in Thailand, Burma and China grow in spiritual maturity. We pray that as they begin to understand more and more of the Word of God, and as the spirit gives spiritual discernment and insight...that the word of God would powerfully impact their lives and shape them more and more toward obedience, servanthood and discipleship
....to become the people that you have called them to be.

Lord, please hear our prayers for the Lisu people. Provide people and resources in your time and your way...and continue to mobilise us, as a church to move forward to support and help our Christian Lisu brothers and sisters
...for your name's sake..and for your glory..Amen!
