A new addtion to our family at Cornerstone!

Congratulations Kwan and Sharon, on the birth of your beautiful baby boy!! We rejoice with you, and praise our Father for his safe arrival!

Kwan and Sharon were not expecting their baby for another few weeks....

so...it was quite a surprise for Sharon when she started labouring, and Kwan was away in Canberra for his Orthopaedic exams.
Sharon didn't want Kwan to be disturbed or distracted from his exams and did not let him know of their son's birth!!

However, Kwan received news of it through an sms message of congratulations from a friend, which absolutely shocked him!!
Well, Kwan can't wait to finish his exams and rush home to meet his little man!

Our prayers and love go out to you both!

Equip Women's Conference 23rd May 2009 (Darling Harbour)

Sisters in Christ. Sharing in the joy of the Lord

Fellowship through the study of His word

Thousands of women gathered together as ONE

Women from all walks of life, from many different churches across Sydney, came together for Equip 2009. We had the privilege to fellowship with women from other churches, singing together in praise to our King and sitting under His word, learning and encouraging one another in the Lord.

This year's theme was "The Queen and I", based on the book of Esther.

Even though God is not explicitly mentioned in the book of Esther, He very evidently works in the lives of His people and sovereignly brings events together at just the right time, to bless and protect His people

Even though Esther is a Jew, she is much favoured by the King and he marries her. Through her position as queen, God uses her as his instrument to save the lives of His people, at great risks to her own life. For "who knows that you have come to a royal position for such a time as this?"

Through many twists and turns and "co-incidences", God orchestrates a chain of events to finally bring deliverance to His people.

God continues to deliver us now, but ultimately, we are exiles waiting for our final deliverance to heaven, our eternal home
.

Like Esther, we have a privileged position, and we are to humbly, excitedly, purposefully, and courageously accept the plans and purposes that God is and will bring about, in and through our lives, for His glory!

Short Term Mission Trip Planning to Thailand 09

* A typical Short term mission planning meeting: 13th May 2009

The Cornerstone Mission Team used Skype to speak with missionary partners, Jim & Linda, in Thailand (who are currently principals at the James O Fraser College)

Lots of deep thinking and discussion occur during these preparation meetings, along with many laughs and discoveries about each team member.

One of our main aims on this trip is to provide English Tuition to the students studying at the James O Fraser Christian College. In addition we will be equipping them with many books, which we'll be carrying over there, to start up their own library.

We need your prayers during this preparation period as well as during the mission to glorify God and for opportunities to evangelise.

Mother's Day 09 at North

At North we celebrated Mother's Day to acknowledge all the wonderful work our mothers do, changing the world one heartbeat at a time.

Mel & Beth handed out specially made gifts to the mums.

Proverbs 31: 29-31
29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
